the idea

The idea for an art fundraiser came a couple of months ago after a class discussion with our sponsors. This was days after the action in Ukraine had really picked up, and in the face of the graphic broadcasts and personal stories shared over social media, we were all expressing feelings of helplessness, and fear, and some guilt in our own safety. Our class teachers led us in a meaningful reflection on the reality of refugees, and our own experience of what feels like such a momentous world event. What I heard most from my classmates was that they just didn't know what to do. In the face of such a huge issue, what could we possibly do?

Later that night I messaged Miss Beka with my best answer -- an art fundraiser of student work. An achievable, tangible way to help, through an artistic skillset we are all taught. So here we are. Here are our offerings. This is our bite of the elephant. Thank you for stopping by and supporting our efforts.

We are sending the proceeds of this art print fundraiser to the emergency support fund created by 'Friends of Waldorf Education,' (https://www.waldorfeducation.org/donate) through which the various and evolving needs of our Ukrainian friends can be addressed.
